League Constitution
Dynasty Bylaws
The official rules and guidelines governing the Only The Strong Survive dynasty fantasy football league. Established 2021.
What Is Dynasty Fantasy Football?
In dynasty fantasy football, each owner drafts a team during a startup draft that becomes the foundation of their franchise — a franchise they own indefinitely. In the inaugural season, managers draft both veteran NFL players and rookies to build their startup roster.
Every year after, the league holds a rookie draft featuring incoming NFL talent. This is the primary way to keep your roster competitive and fresh. Rookies replace aging or underperforming veterans that no longer serve your franchise.
To build the best roster possible, managers are encouraged to trade players and future rookie draft picks year-round — both in-season and off-season. The success or failure of your franchise is entirely in your hands.
League Financials
Season One (2021)
Each manager paid $100 in dynasty league trial fees, split as follows:
Ongoing Seasons (2022+)
Each manager pays $100 annually in dynasty league fees, split as follows:
League Dissolution Vote
The week before fantasy playoffs, owners vote on whether to continue the dynasty league. A majority of 7 votes is required to dissolve. If dissolved, the Franchise Investment Fund rolls into the final prize pool: $1,000 for first place and $500 for second place.
Trade Rules
All trades are final once accepted by both owners and executed on the league platform. Key rules:
Owners are encouraged to post in the Sleeper league chat to explain and discuss recent trades.
Trading Future Draft Picks
To trade future rookie draft picks, each involved manager must pay $50 toward that future season’s buy-in. This amount goes into the Franchise Investment Fund and is non-refundable. When that season arrives, you’ll only owe $50 instead of the full $100 since you’ve already invested half.
If the league dissolves before those future picks are used and you are still the original franchise manager, your funds will be returned in full. If you inherited an orphaned team, those funds remain in the Franchise Investment Fund and go toward the final prize pool.
Owner Conduct
All owners are expected to carry themselves in a respectful manner that does not harm other owners or the league. Trash talk and bragging are part of the game — keep it competitive but keep it adult. The commissioner draws the line between fun banter and comments that cross the line. Violations may result in removal from the league.
Activity & Etiquette
Dynasty is a year-round commitment. All owners are expected to be active in some capacity throughout the year. This includes:
Responding to all trade offers in a timely manner — even if it’s a simple “no thanks.” If someone declines a trade or says they’re not looking to deal, respect that answer and move on.
If an owner is removed or leaves the league, the commissioner assumes control of the team until a replacement owner is found and approved. The commissioner will not make any transactions on behalf of the abandoned team. Lineups will be set based on optimal projections.
Tanking Policy
Tanking — intentionally setting a weak lineup to secure a better draft position — is prohibited. Starting lineups should be complete and reflect the best available roster for that week. This protects not just win/loss integrity, but the competitive balance of the entire league.
If accused of tanking, the commissioner will review and rule. Penalties range from loss of draft position to ejection from the league for repeat offenders. Note: there’s a difference between tanking and rebuilding. Trading assets for future picks is part of dynasty — just continue setting your best available lineup each week.
Commissioner Duties
The commissioner and co-commissioner(s) act in the best interest of the league at all times. Their responsibilities include interpreting and enforcing rules, settling disputes between owners, and overseeing draft and league setup.
Removing a commissioner is a serious action and should be considered a last resort. A three-quarters majority vote (8 out of 10 owners) is required for removal.
Rule Changes
Rule changes can be proposed at any time by any owner. However, all votes on rule changes take place during the off-season only. A majority of 7 votes is required to pass any rule change. Rule change discussions are held annually during Pro Bowl weekend.
